This has always been a personal favourite of mine in the world of décor – chairs that serve their purpose and look interesting, not just plain and repetitive. Done wrong and it will look like your Grandma’s house at Christmas (bringing out the emergency chairs of varying heights), however done correctly produces an extensive pallet of colours and pattern for the eyes.
Now I’m not saying to grab any old selection of chairs from the garage – some sort of system is needed. Whether you have pretty patterns or just simply monochrome, mismatching chairs can create a formal, yet less militant, setting or an informal wave of colours. We have put together a fabulous Pinterest board for you guys to check out - full of inspiration for quirky and missmatching chairs. Have you been to a wedding with missmatching chairs - what did you think? Get in touch and show us the visuals! We would also love it if you guys could please follow us on Twitter (@maverickbrides) and like us on our Facebook page. We sometimes have exclusive competitions on our social networking pages... and wouldn't want you to miss out! Speaking of which...... don't forget that we are currently offering all new clients a free confetti balloon from Bubblegum Balloons when booking our Fairy Godmother wedding coordination package. For more deets email us today MAVERICKBRIDE@GMAIL.COM Oh the wonders of social networking! Personally, as a wedding planner, I love trawling through all the sites under the sun for inspirational images and ideas. So when I stumbled across a tweet from Tulle Mag yesterday afternoon showcasing the unbelievably cool concept of a confetti bar, I simply had to showcase it to all you Maverick's! What do you think? I absolutely adore this funky alternative bar!
Provide your guests with a selection of confetti goodies to choose from. This is the absolute perfect resolution for all you couples who cant choose on which style of confetti to go for. Fill a few jars... whether your going for the glitter look (which I LOVE!) or maybe opting for a trusty selection of biodegradable products (I'm all for protecting nature!).. mix it up a little bit and remember, HAVE FUN! So all you Mavericks - what do you think? Let us know by leaving us a comment - we always love to hear from you! xx Hope you all had a lovely weekend! We've been across the border and into Wales for a catch up with family and friends.... although its been gloomy and wet (what can you expect from Wales in October?!), our stay so far has been full of laughter and trips to the coast.
I love a good old mason jar. Ben will tell you. I collect all our jam jars and coffee pots, give them a once over, and store them away for a later date. Mason jars are your best friend. Try to keep an assortment of glass jars in different shapes and sizes, I promise one day they will get great use! This week, its all about sourcing rustic fresh flowers & hanging from the end of your isles in mason jars. Love the idea outlined in the picture above, of using shepherds hooks to hang them from (wowza). Get creative. Use your initiative and think of new ways to recreate this look. How about lighting a tea light - perfect for evening ceremonies. What will you use your mason jars for? Get in touch - maverickbrides@gmail.com we love to hear from you guys! xxx Good morning all you loved up people!! The sun has been shining gloriously in Wilshire today.. hope you werel lucky to get some sunshine in your face too!! And not only that - but it's our first creative step by step tutorial by Brides-Made. I'll let Lizi take over from here.. enjoy! "Hello to all you crafty brides-to-be! Welcome to our Elle Maverick DIY monthly special. This month we are showing you how to create these fun and quirky wedding invite lanyards for a festival themed wedding. The tutorial is super easy and is one of our favourite tutorials to have been made so far; so eye catching & sure to get your guests excited!! We have designed a template for you to download and use (above) - or for you budding designers.. feel free to design your very own. We really hope you like this tutorial as much as us and have lots of fun.. happy crafting! STEP ONE Print and cut out your lanyard design, we at Brides-‐Made have a designed template, which can be downloaded and edited to your requirements, or you can design your own. The design is an A6, which makes it a perfect size for your lanyard invites. The fonts we used are Bebas Neue ad Rosewood STD, which can be downloaded free. STEP TWO This step is optional, but we laminated our lanyards to give it a more professional appearance and to also protect your invite. You can pick up a cheap laminator at your local store and by placing the design inside an A4 laminated slip, place it through the laminator and wait until sealed. STEP THREE Using a ruler and sharpie, draw a line around the laminated slip leaving approximately 5mm gaps at the sides and 20mm gap along the top. This allows you to cut before your sharpie marks and enough room along the top to punch a hole. STEP FOUR Cut just before your markings so that your lanyard is sealed. STEP FIVE Carefully hole punch the top of your lanyard to allow a ribbon to be placed through. STEP SIX Place your lanyard clip through your ribbon of choice, attach your lanyard design and tie the ribbon with a bow. And there you have it.... how to create a festival themed lanyard invitation in six easy steps!! Thank you so much to Brides-Made for creating this fabulous tutorial - we have loved giving this a go ourselves! We would love to see our readers designs.. so if you make your very own, please send us a picture to maverickbrides@gmail.com.
Brides-Made will be back the last Friday of every month, so keep your eyes peeled for their next amazing tutorial! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend xxx |
